സം സ്ഥാന ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 52 ശതമാനത്തോളംവരുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളെ പ്രതിനിധാനംചെയ്ത് ഇത്തവണ നിയമസഭയിലെത്തുക 11 വനിതകൾ. ആകെ എം.എൽ.എ.മാരുടെ 7.86 ശതമാനം മാത്രം. കഴിഞ്ഞ സഭയിൽ 12 (8.57 ശതമാനം) വനിതകളാണുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ചരിത്രമെഴുതി ലീഗിന്റെ ആദ്യ വനിതാ എം.എൽ.എ. പുതിയ സഭയിലുണ്ടാവും. To advertise here, നിലവിലെ മന്ത്രിസഭയിൽ അംഗങ്ങളായ മൂന്നുവനിതകളും ജനവിധിയിൽ പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു. ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തുനിന്ന് മത്സരിച്ച 18 വനിതാ സ്ഥാനാർഥികളിൽ രണ്ടുപേർ മാത്രമാണ് ജയിച്ചത്. എന്നാൽ, യു.ഡി.എഫ്. സ്ഥാനാർഥികളായ 12 വനിതകളിൽ ഒൻപതുപേരും ജയിച്ചുകയറി. എൻ.ഡി.എ. 18 വനിതകളെ അണിനിരത്തിയെങ്കിലും ഒരാൾപോലും വിജയിച്ചില്ല. നിലവിലെ സഭയിൽ അംഗങ്ങളായ മൂന്നു വനിതകൾ വീണ്ടും തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ജയിച്ച വനിതകൾ  ഉഷാ വിജയൻ (മാനന്തവാടി), കെ.കെ. രമ (വടകര), ഫാത്തിമ തഹ്‌‌ലിയ (പേരാമ്പ്ര), വിദ്യ ബാലകൃഷ്ണൻ (എലത്തൂർ), കെ.എ. തുളസി (കോങ്ങാട്), ഗീതാ ഗോപി (നാട്ടിക), ഉമാ തോമസ് (തൃക്കാക്കര), ഷാനിമോൾ ഉസ്മാൻ (അരൂർ), രമ്യാ ഹരിദാസ് (ചിറയിൻകീഴ്), ബിന്ദു കൃഷ്ണ (കൊല്ലം), ഒ.എസ്. അംബിക (ആറ്റിങ്ങൽ).
