Accessibility

Boolokam aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We test with keyboard navigation, VoiceOver on iOS / macOS, and TalkBack on Android. Accessibility is not a finished project — if anything blocks you, we want to know.

What works today

• Full keyboard navigation with visible focus rings.
• Screen-reader landmarks (header, main, nav, footer) and ARIA labels on interactive icons.
• Pinch-zoom is enabled. The viewport allows up to 5× scaling.
• Touch targets are at least 44×44 pixels on mobile.
• Modals support Escape-to-close and trap focus while open.
• Reduced-motion preference is honoured — long animations switch off automatically.
• Multilingual interface (English / Malayalam) with proper lang and dir attributes.

Known gaps

• Embedded YouTube player controls are governed by YouTube's own UI; we can't fully restyle them.
• Some auto-aggregated news images may lack descriptive alt text from the source — we use the article title as a fallback.

Reporting an issue

Email accessibility@boolokam.com with: the page URL, what you were trying to do, what assistive tech you were using, and what happened. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and ship a fix or workaround within 30 days for blocking issues.
